Description
A surreal depiction of a man and woman in a small vessel on a dark sea, surrounded by fruits, the woman holding a large jug between the two of them. Seen painted on its side are two galloping horses; they are echoed in the stormy clouds on the horizon. The viewer can imagine the mood of this piece in different ways, as a scene of calm in the center of a storm, or a scene of impending chaos. The face of the man, perhaps of Levin himself, is calm despite the swells they are precariously gliding through.
