Biography

Printmaker, painter, and scupltor Maurilio Minuzzi was born in Pramaggiore, Veneto, Italy in 1939. He attended the Scuola Superiore d'arte Applicata in Milan from 1955 to 1957, studying painting and printmaking under Carlo Russi before apprenticing as a technical draftsman from 1957 to 1959.

From 1962 to 1965 he traveled to England and the United States working as a photographer and graphic artist. After working various jobs, he relocated to Germany, taking courses at the Cologne Werkschulen from 1966 to 1970. After his alotted ten semesters of free graphic arts classes he was appointed to Cologne University as a lecturer of printmaking techniques, and in 1975 received his first commission from the federal ministry for work related to environmental protection.

Throughout his career he has participated in over 100 exhibitions in Europe and the United Stated. In 1994 he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic in the Cavalier class. He currently resides in Cologne.
