Will Collier, painter, printmaker and educator, was born in Queens, New York on February 15, 1929. He received his B.A. in 1952 from Antioch College, a private liberal arts college in Yellow Springs, Ohio. His studies continued at the University of California Berkeley where he earned his M.A. in 1956. Collier studied with Stanley William Hayter at Atelier 17 in Paris in 1960. Returning to the United States, he enrolled at the San Francisco Art Institute where he studied between 1961 and 1962.
