Description
Bertram Edises was Pele de Lappe's husband from 1934 to 1949. He was a prominant civil rights lawyer in Oakland, California for many years, and also worked on behalf of unions. He was a National Labor Relations Board attorney during the Salinas, CA Lettuce Growers Associaton strike of 1937. He died in 1997.
