Description
Matanzas Creek Winery in Santa Rosa, California, was established in 1977 and is known not only for its wine but for its tiered lavender fields, as well. Here, Packer captures a summer day beneath a deep blue sky, purple blooms spread out in the foreground and rolling hillsides cloaked in vineyards and oak trees in the distance. Packer's signature "frame" around the image includes vignettes of rabbits hiding behind lavendar bunches in the lower edge.
A wonderful, evocative image of one of Sonoma County's most stunning regions, Bennett Valley.
