We received two painting by this as-yet-unidentified artist, both on a fibrous, handmade paper and both featuring heavily saturated inks or watercolors. Overall, the images - which feature standing figures looking out at the viewer - are dark as though shrouded in shadow. Yet each is highlighted with swaths and drips of a vivid, almost neon pink, providing a curiously joyous contrast.

Though we are always hesitant to catgorize art without the artist's input, it can be helpful in our research when trying to locate that artist. This work appears to be from the Naive or Primitive genres, or perhaps Brutalist. Each of them has a similar set of brushstrokes in the lower left corner which could be signatures (letters resemble A, H, and W), but the ink is too dark to see their full outline.
