Description
According to Richard Miles, the model, a Chinese girl who was living in Seoul, recently lost a baby. Her pet rabbit was a poor substitute, but it gave Jacoulet an idea for an image that has grown steadily more popular since his death. The young lady also was the inspiration for his color woodcut, Les Jades.
