Description
According to Richard Miles, this portrait of a young Korean bridegroom continues Jacoulet's pre-war conception of the "floating figure", a kneeling or cross-legged person filling most of the block, but surrounded by space. His original drawing was so composed, but during this affluent period he began to fill the space not with colored micas, but with magnificent props like the Korean screen.
