Description
"Yamanaka Lake" is one of Yoshida's large prints, done in 1929. The artist used 10 blocks and took 47 impressions from them to create this dramatic work. The colors and time of day vary from impression to impression, this being a very soft, misty early sunset feeling. There are dark areas in the sky in the upper right which appear to have been done in the printing. This impression is from the personal collection of H.E. Robison, noted Yoshida collector and author of "A Complete Artist", pages 10 - 12 in the Yoshida catalogue raisonné.
