Description
After the Altamira Cave paintings by Henri 'Abbe' Brueil (French: 1877-1965), the first archeologist to date and catalogue the art works. The cave is located in the village of Antillana del Mar, Cantabria, Spain, and this image is sometimes referred to as "Galloping Boar" to differentiate it from others in the cave. Winkler created a series of several charcoal, conte crayon, pastel, graphite, and ink drawings of such imagery, well as carved figures from prehistoric eras.
