After the drawings of Paleolithic cave paintings in France and Spain done by archeologist Henri 'Abbe' Beuil (French: 1877-1965). These animals, likely a hind and a bison, are found on the walls of the Altamira Cave in the village of Antillana del Mar, Cantabria, Spain. Breuil was the first person to determine the age of these caves' works and methodically document them, using a 38'-long sheet of paper onto which he sketched the animals as reference for future compositions. In Bueil's book Caverne d'Altamira, Cartailhac/Breuil, 1906) this scene is titled "Entangled Animals" and is from ca. 15,000 BCE. These caves found in Winkler created a series of several charcoal, conte crayon, pastel, graphite, and ink drawings of such paintings, as well as prehistoric carved figures.
