Austin Creek near Trosper’s, Cazadero is a fine example of Rice’s amazing mastery of rendering nature in watercolor. Austin Creek is located in western Sonoma County in Northern California. It drains an enormous area north and east of the village of Cazadero, with dozens of tributary creeks, many of which are potential spawning ground for salmon and steelhead trout. Austin Creek flows through land populated by towering redwood trees.
