Description
Road to Town offers a panoramic view of the village of Wyoming, New York from the porch of Hillside, the summer home of Lydia Avery Coonley Ward. The spire of the Presbyterian church is visible just left of center and next to the church is the fire station with its fire tower. Other color woodcuts that depict the grounds of Ward’s estate are Apple Blossoms, Cherry Bloom, Summer Shadows, Rainy Day Promenade and Woodland Meadows. Baumann had planned to open his print shop, Swanli Press, in the village of Wyoming upon his return from his 1918 visit to the Southwest.
