Description
Our Lady Queen of Angeles (Nuestra SeƱora La Reina de los Angeles) is an historic Roman Catholic church constructed in 1822 in El Pueblo de Los Angeles, now a historical monument. The pueblo of Los Angeles was founded in 1781 by Spanish colonizers under the name El Pueblo de la Reina de Los Angeles. The pueblo was not part of a mission and is only one of two surviving pueblos in California. The plaza of the pueblo was the center of Los Angeles' community throughout the 19th century.
