	Description
Chamberlain quotes Baumann on page 406 of In a Modern Rendering: The Color Woodcuts of Gustave Baumann: "Puppets are no novelty in the Spanish southwest. They have been used in folk performances since the first Spaniards came. This Conquistadore [sic] on his crudely-made but well-articulated horse was found in San Ildefonso pueblo, where the Indians remembered him as part of a play given in the old church a long time ago.'
