Description
The historic Kraft Winery was built in 1885 in St. Helena, California, a part of the Napa Valley wine region. It's stone cellar and Victorian farmhouse, seen in this summery intaglio, are now a part of the Spotswood Winery. The property now sports more buildings and the cellar has lost its sloped roof to a straight one to acommodate a solar panel, but Packer's depiction of the area remains spot-on. She captures the quiet, peaceful nature of the valley with the famous silhouette of Mount St. Helena in the background, and features native California fauna and flora - quail and angelica flowers - in her decorative border.
