Description
Charles Rogers was born in Kansas and frequently used the North American water elm, which once flourished throughout the state, as the main focus of his prints and paintings. Sadly, with the spread of Dutch Elm Disease to the American south by the 1930s, the majority of native water elms were wiped within a few decades. As such, this image inadvertantly serves as a marker of days gone by.
A note on condition: this lithograph exhibits tiny thinning spots in the image, which are not visible without holding the image up to the light. The price reflects the condition.
