Description
Janet Reed (1916-2000) was an American ballerina, ballet mistress, and dance school founder. She danced with the San Francisco Ballet (1937-1941), the Ballet Theater (New York), and the New York City Ballet, the latter for whom she was ballet mistress from 1959 to 1964. After retirement, she helped found the Pacific Northwest Dance company in Seattle, Washington, serving as director until 1976.
