Pablo O’Higgins’s depictioned the dignity and camraderie of workers in diverse trades throughout his career, his portrayals of construction workers were an important part of his work in all media, as witnessed in this work titled roughly "Breakfast or Lunch". Done originally as a pencil signed lithograph in 1943 and which shows a group of bricklayers eating their meal amidst a construction site, surrounded by pieces of wood, columns, beams, and a ladder.
This image is reproduced on page 61 in the 1992 publication "Pablo O'Higgins: Hombre Del Siglo XX" (ISBN 968-36-2619-X) which indicates a date of 1943 and an edition of 35. Around five years later he did a painting of the subject and it appears he published another campaign of the lithograph in 1950, without the edition noted.
