Description
Though more well-known for his complex, colorful Abstract Expressionist pieces, "Nets" achieves a quiet, elegant sophistication in simple black and white. Two fishermen preparing for their day are seen through the irregular patterns made by hanging trawler nets. The composition's style echoes the post-war street photography and film noir of the day.
