Description
Translating loosely to "Between the Moon and Us," Montoya presents a romantic nocturnal image of the iconic Sutro Tower, located in Clarendon Heights, San Francisco, CA. The unique three-legged T.V. and radio lattice antenna is situated between Mount Sutro and Twin Peaks, where from its completion in 1973 until 2018 it was the tallest structure in the city. Though it was controversial at the time - Herb Caen, famed columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle, once wrote: "I keep waiting for it to stalk down the hill and attack the Golden Gate Bridge" - it soon became a landmark nearly as ubiquitous as the bridge itself.
