	Description
Estella Loretto is a Pueblo Jemez artist based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, whose work often addresses the spiritual realm of her tribal upbringing using a solidly contemporary style. Here, she uses saturated neon pigment to emphasize the geometric symbols suspended in the foreground; they appear to vibrate against a stylized, digitally printed desert landscape and glowing sunset. Loretto is hailed as the first Native American woman to work in monumental sculpture and she continues to operate a studio in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
