	Description
	A preparatory sketch Pollak's etching and aquatint "Janet Reed: American Ballet Dancer". Janet Reed, born in 1916 in Oregon, was lead ballerina for the San Francisco Ballet and principal ballerina New York's Ballet Theater before becoming the ballet mistress of the New York City Ballet. She retired from dancing in 1964 and went on to teach until 1996, when declining health forced her into a second retirement. She died on Februaru 28, 2000, a nationally celebrated ballerina and dance educator.
