Max Pollak produced a series of small portraits of pet cats and dogs, likely belonging to close friends and often sporting fashionable accoutrements. These serve as small windows into the humorous side of a serious artist. Here, Pollak depicts a slim Borzoi, the second portrait of this particular dog - this time, Jim has been closely shorn.
