Unfolding was featured by Alfred Fowler in Print Survey: A Review of Recent Fine Prints, Spring 1947, volume 1, number 3. Regarding this engraving Fowler wrote on page 70, “The artist is one of the leading exponents of this type of printmaking. He described Unfolding, Series fine lines express flow in space Spiral movement Left two interpenetrating systems lower R upper left—two unfolding elements. Stable structure foreground with solid surface below.” [sic]
