Description
In Montmartre in 1902, composer Gustave Charpentier opened the Conservatoire Populaire Mimi Pinson, a music conservatory intended for working-class women. It was named for the character in Alfred de Musset's poem of the same name. The conservatory was a short lived endeavor and the building, a 17th century structure probably used as an inn, was demolished in 1925 to make way for apartment buildings.
