Description
Trogir was still a part of Yugoslavia when Pollak made this print. Settled by the Greeks in the 3rd, Trogir's geographic position made it a major port town for Romans, Venetians, the French, Austrians, and then the Croats. Due to its storied history, the island city's architecture is primarily Mediterranean in style but holds aspects of Northern European influence. Trogir became a part of Croatia in 1991. Featured in this image is the clock tower and loggia in Trogir's Ivana Pavla II square.
