Description
"Messe auf den Leibi" loosely translates to "Fair on the Leibi". The Leibi is a tributary of the Danube in Bavaria, Germany. Riedel often used as his subject matter the daily lives of country people, as with this image, in which he depicts a street fair in a small village on a sunny day.
This impression was given as a gift on July 13, 1952 and is dedicated in ink:"Cher Monsieur Barblan / A l'occasion de votre 75 eme / anniversaire nous nous faisons un plaisir de vous presenter / un petit souvenir de Bale / 13.7.52." and signed with an as yet illegable signature.
