	Description
Little is known about Mary Carslake, she is probably Canadian and was perhaps born in 1904. This calligraphy is a poem titled "The Villain" by William Henry Davies (1871 - 1940). Known as the "Welsh Tramp" poet, "Villains" was first published in 1920. From the collection of Danish critic and author Georg Bröchner, who wrote for the British art magazine "The Studio" in the early 20th century. He has annotated the work in ink: "From Miss Mary Carslake / 1931."
