Description
A linocut of an early ceremony from Morelos, Mexico, with a warrior in an eagle costume defending against a Spanish invader.
Santamaria notes about this work: "Pueblo prehispánico que se desarrollo geograficamente en lo que hoy ocupa el estado de Morelos, aqui see hace la recreacion de un guerrero de esas tribus al pretender luchar con un soldado espanol.
It roughly translates to English as: "Prehispanic people that developed geographically in what today occupies the state of Morelos, here we see the re-creation of a warrior of those tribes as he pretends to fight with a Spanish soldier."
