	Description
A Demarteau etching of the original Boucher drawing, printed in sepia ink using softground in the "crayon manner" to resemble a drawing. The title in French reads: "Berger endormi au pied d'un arbre, la tete dans la main droite, les jambes repliees; à droite, deux moutons", translating to: "Shepherd asleep at the foot of a tree, head in right hand, legs folded; on the right, two sheep."
This impression has his early address at "rue de Pelterie a la Cloche". Demarteau was a prodigious etcher, executing over 730 images, mostly done after drawings by Boucher and Huet. Demarteau was only 54 when he died.
