Description

This early mixed technique intaglio was done at Atelier 17 in New York in 1945. Perle Fine studied with Hans Hoffman and is one of the early New York Abstract Expressionist artists.

In the 1950s Fine moved to the Springs, section of East Hampton on the eastern end of Long Island where Jackson Pollock, Lee Krasner. Willem de Kooning, Conrad Marca-Relli and other members of the New York School found permanent residence.

"Veiled Personage" was exhibited at the Fourteenth Exhibition of Prints by members of the Atelier 17 Group" at the Laurel Gallery in NY in 1949.
