This impression of "Kneeling Figure" is from the edition of 30 in the third state that Hayter printed on various papers, this paper being a hand made Lauriet on which he printed numbers 13 through 16. This paper is thick and soft, with 4 deckled edges. The paper contains small chunks of pulp, almost like bark. In two areas in the margins of this print these chunks have fallen out or were removed, like the one to the left of the signature.
"Kneeling Figure" is one of Hayter's most familiar images, partly due to the fact that the plate was acquired by the Chalcographie du Louvre in Paris, which added their trademark to the lower left corner of the plate and has printed an unlimited edition that is available through the museum shop at the Louvre.
