In an homage to his artist friends, Georges Villa has drawn three caricatures in their styles. He notes in French: "a la maniere de (in the manner of): Henry Gerbault, Caran d'Ache" on one side of this sheet of paper. On its left half, he's drawn a soldier in the manner of Caran d'Ache, the 19th century French satirist and political cartoonist who also went by Emmanuel Poiré. On the right is a side profile of a young lady, drawn in the manner of H. Gerbault. On the verso of the sheet, Villa has drawn a man holding a newspaper "a la maniere JL Forain," referring to the French Impressionist Jean-Louis Forain.
