Description
This is a posthumous impression of this early etching (Kollwitz's fourth etching). There is much confusion about her prints so here is the entry from the Kneseback catalogue raisonne, listing each state and printing. This impression is from the final printing (f).: State II. The body is thoroughly modeled. The contours of the thigh no longer touch below his genitalia. The background is completed, reworked and strengthened.
