Description
A depiction of the Marlboro, VT "Meeting House," built in 1778 as a seasonal house of worship. Originally built on what is known as Town Hill, it was moved downhill in 1844. It burned down in 1931 and was subsequently rebuilt, and is now host to a community center, library, gallery, and cafe. The artist Stanley Rice was probably Stanley Lloyd Rice, a graphic artist who worked for McGraw-Hill Book Co. and Harcourt, Brace, & World Inc., New York. He lived in Marlboro in the mid to late 1940s.
