This etching, done in a few proofs only, depicts a winter day in Chicago's Washington Park, which was designed by the architect Frederick Law Olmsted, who also designed New York's Central Park and San Francisco's Golden Gate Park.
Jaques uses the white of the paper for the snow, adding etched lines to surround the foreground. She used a blue-black ink to print the work, adding to the cool feeling of the composition.
This impression is dedicated to the noted California etcher John W. Winkler.
