As a printmaker St. Louis artist Charles Quest was influenced by the Cubists, particularly Gris, Braque and Picasso. This 1947 cubist / surrealist woodengraving (cut on the end grain of the block rather than the plank) is a proof, outside the regular small edition of 25.
