In geometry, the sagitta of a circular arc is the distance from the center of the arc to the center of its base. It is the name of the constellation Sagitta, named by Greek astronomer Ptolemy in the 2nd century.
"Sagitta" was one of ten images included in the Andrew Balkin Editions' first major portfolio of printmakers, AGB1+10, published in 1993. It also included the artists Barbara Rossi, Roger Brown, Richard Hull, Patricia Fennell, Gladys Nilsson, Martin Levine, Mary Bero, Frances Myers, David Becker, and Dennis Nechtval.
