After the advertisement for Corsican mineral water company Orezza. The original poster was designed by an artist who signed P. Ribera, which might be Pierre Ribera (1867-1935) but there is no solid evidence for this so far. In the image, a woman in a simple dress and headscarf holds a basket of flowers while sipping from her water glass. Behind her, the leaves of chestnut trees drape downward, partially obscuring the waterfall in the background.
Orezza's naturally sparkling mineral water comes from the Castagniccia region of the island, and in antiquity up through the early 20th century was known for the "healing properties" of its high iron content. Bottles of the water were sent to anemic soldiers in the early 20th century, and the island hosted health pilgrims hoping to immerse themselves in their famous mineral baths. In 1995 a declining population on the island ended bottling production for nearly five years, but Orezza is back in production to this day.
