Description
After the advertising poster for L'Ovale hair pins, featuring a classic Victorian woman in a pink dressing gown, pinning up her hair before her mirror. The ad claims that it is the "best hairpin, never pricking the head." Hairpins of the type shown here were invented closer to 1901 with the patent of the modern "spiraled metal" hairpin by Ernest Godward of New Zealand.
