Isadore Louis Firestone (born Feristman), painter, illustrator, caricaturist, and teacher, was born in Tiszakerecseny, a village in the Northern Great Plain region of eastern Hungary, on 13  April 1894. He immigrated to the United States in 1907 with his widowed mother and siblings and was living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1910. Firestone petitioned to become a US citizen in 1919.

Firestone studied at the School of Design at Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburg; and the School of Industrial Art and the Art Students League, New York City. He was a member of the Pittsburgh Art Association, the Washington Landscape Club, and the Society of Illustrators. Firestone taught at the Carnegie-Mellon School of Design and contributed caricatures of theater personalities to New York periodicals.

Isadore Louis Firestone, described on his draft registration form as tall, slender, with light hair and blue eyes, died in April 1979 in Bethesda, Maryland.
