Painter and printmaker Nancy "Nan" Swift was born Nancy Ruth Spaulding on December 26, 1919 in Torrence, California. Despite clear talent, very little is found on her artistic career or life. She married noted printmaker, painter, and art educator Dick Swift in 1954, and in 1959 she exhibited her Abstract Expressionist paintings at the Magnolia Theater in Long Beach. Nan Swift died in California on July 27, 1999.
