Biography

Printmaker Nathalie Grall was born in Compiegne, France in 1961. She trained at the Institute of Visual Arts in Orleans (graduating in 1984) and the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where she received her Master's in intaglio printmaking in 1986; she works in lithography, gouche, and oils as well. In 2014 a major retrospective of over 30 years of her work was held at the Goya Museum in Castres, France.

Gall is also an illustrator, and has provided engravings for such written works as WB Yeat's The Lake Isle of Innisfree (1987); Nadine Ribault's La Cordelette jaune (2004); Francis Ponge's Le Parti pris des choses (2004); Ludovic Degroote's Pousse (2006); and Gerard Farasse's Caprices (2012), among others.  She currently lives and works in Lille, France, where she also teaches engraving at the Palais des Beaux-Arts.

Her work can be found in the collections of the National Library of France; the Municiple Library, Orleans; St. Maur Museum, France; La Roche/Yon Art Library, France; Lille Library, France; Dunkirk Library, France; St. Roch Hospice Museum, Issoudun, France; General Council of Yvelines, among others.
