Biography

Little is found on the life and work of Scottish painter and printmaker Anna (Ann) Chassar Dallas. The British Museum states she was born in Glasgow in 1888, and notes that she was a teacher in addition to professional artist. She was a member of the Grosvenor Artists in the 1930s, and exhibited at the Redfern Gallery, Goupil Gallery, New English Art Club, and posthumously at the Royal Glasgow Institute of Fine Art (1958). Dallas died in St Albans, Hertfordshire, England in 1950.

Dallas' art is held at the British Museum, London, and the Museum of New Zealand, Christchurch, NZ.
