Rexford Donald Holmes




Rexford Donald Holmes was born in Los Angeles, California on March 13, 1913. Holmes studied at the Chouinard Art Institute in the late 1930s. In 1941, he settled in San Francisco and he was active there until 1958 when he and his wife, Rosinda, purchased a prune farm nears Healdsburg, CA. They established a printing business in a barn, where they produced greeting cards featuring the San Francisco scenery for national distribution. Rex Holmes lived in Healdsburg until his death on February 14, 2009.

Holmes exhibited at San Francisco Museum of Art in 1947; California Palace of Legion of Honor in 1948; City of Paris in San Francisco; Gump's in San Francisco.
