Mildred Oestermann



Printmaker Mildred Caroline Oestermann was born in San Francisco, CA on August 23, 1899. She was a pupil of Gertrude Albright, Lee Randolph, Rudolph Schaeffer, and Spencer Macky. Her work includes portraits and scenes of the Mother Lode area and Oregon. She was the niece of artist Anna Oestermann. In 1951 she wed James Stewart. She died in Contra Costa County, CA on Feb. 4, 1991. 

Exhibitions include: the Calif. Society of Etchers; SF Women Artists; San Francisco Art Association, 1924-32; Oakland Art Gallery, 1932. Her work is included in the collection of Mills College in Oakland, CA.
