Daniel Voitek was apparently a student of Atelier 17 printmaker Cathal O'Toole while O'Toole was teaching at Wilkes College from 1950 to 1959 (now Wilkes University) in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Voitek attended the school of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and was awarded an honorable mention in the student exhibition of 1959.
