Biography

Engraver Henricus Snyers (Hendrick Snijers) was born in Antwerp, Belgium, around 1612. He was a pupil of Nicolaes Lauwers, Flemish engraver and deacon of the artist's Guild of St. Luke. Snyers began work as a copyist for the painter Abraham van Diepenbeeck in 1643 on a three-year contract. His death date is unknown and varies from source to source; it is known he was active until at least 1647.
