Aemilian Baudnik was born in Prague, Bohemia (now Czech Republic) in 1877. It is possible that he was a student of Emil Orlk and Lovis Corinth. He was quite skilled at creating beautiful color linocuts and six of them were presented in the 1924 portfolio Farbige Erlebnisse (Colorful Experiences), Linoleumschnitte by Aemilian Baudnik, published by Volksverband der Bücherfreunde, Berlin.

Baudnik spent the latter part of his life in Prague and died there about 1930.
